Kruger Park
Het 'Greater Kruger Park',
gelegen in de Limpopo Provincie, omvat niet alleen
het Kruger National Park, maar ook de omliggende
wildparken die in prive eigendom zijn.
De
omheiningen tussen deze verschillende reservaten
zijn allemaal weggehaald, waardoor er een immens
gebied is ontstaan waarin de dieren zich vrij kunnen
bewegen.
Het
wereldberoemde Kruger Park biedt fantastische
safaris die tot de beste in Afrika behoren!
Het park
is in 1889 opgezet om het wild in het zogeheten
Lowveld (het lager gelegen gebied ten oosten van de
'Highveld' rondom Johannesburg) te beschermen, en
beslaat momenteel bijna 2 miljoen hectare (of
20.000km2!) en biedt niet alleen een
ongeevenaarde diversiviteit in planten en dieren,
maar is ook een wereldleider op het gebied van
vooruitstrevend natuurbeheer en toegepast milieu
beleid.
Het Kruger
Park is tevens een van de paradepaardjes van South
African National Parks, en biedt onderkomen aan een
overweldigend aantal planten en dieren.
Behalve
dit 'wild paradijs' biedt deze omgeving ook een
aantal interessante archeologische opgravingen die
inzicht bieden in de geschiedenis van de mensheid in
het algemeen en in dit gebied in het bijzonder.
Eeuwenoude rotsschilderingen gemaakt door de vrijwel
volledige uitgemoorde Bosjesmannen en gerestoreerde

Jock Safari Lodge is onderdeel van een 6.000
hectare groot, zogeheten 'private concession'
binnen de grenzen van het wereldberoemde
Kruger Nationale Park.
'Main Jock' bestaat uit luxueuze suites met
prive zwembad - uitkijkend over de rivier.
De lodge bevindt zich daar waar twee
rivieren samenkomen: de Biyamiti en de
Mitomeni Rivier.
'Little Jock' biedt de intimiteit en rust
die slechts 3 suites alleen maar kunnen
bieden: met eigen chef, bediening en ranger.

Jock's spa is volledig uitgerust, inclusief

All the suites are named after places of
interest in the tale of “Jock of the
Bushveld” - the treacherous Pettigrew’s
Road, the trading posts of Delagoa Bay and
Komatipoort. Each suite, with queen or twin
beds enveloped in a canopy of voluptuous
white netting, has its own personal “sala”
(thatched viewing deck), plunge pool,
romantic Victorian ball and claw bath, his
and her vanities and outdoor shower. The
suites have been built overlooking the
rivers and offer breathtaking river bed
frontage, bushveld vistas and game viewing.
Each suite is also fully equipped with 5
star amenities such as air-conditioning,
fans, tea and coffee making facilities, mini
bar and safe.
Little Jock Lodge:
With only 3 suites, Little Jock will ensure
that personal service is always a priority
for the lodge’s friendly staff. Each of the
3 luxurious suites are equipped with their
own viewing deck, indoor or outdoor showers
and guest amenities. While the dining and
entertainment area offers both alfresco and
indoor dining facilities allowing guests the

The northern Drakensberg mountain range

National Park region. Kapama River Lodge is

Kapama Lodge:

Buffalo Camp:
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari
camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique
and intimate experience in the African bush.
It is ideal for discovering big game Africa
in true safari tented style without

Eight luxury canvas tents, each sleeping
two, are set on wooden decks built on stilts
over a steep-sided riverbank. Wooden
walkways interconnect the rooms, which are
all in the upper reaches of tall riverine
trees. The river below rarely flows and
antelopes are seen daily walking along the
sandy riverbed. Each tented room has all the

Tinga Private Game Lodge is situated in the
prime game-viewing area between the Sabie
and Sand rivers. The Sabie River is said to
have the richest biodiversity of any South
African river. According to Dr Gus Mills,
Head of Predator Research for SANParks, the
area has one of the highest predator
densities in Africa. It also has the highest
recorded density of leopards in Africa, due
to the large number of impala that are
concentrated in the area. Other common game
species present are kudu, duiker, steenbuck,
bushbuck and giraffe. Red duiker and nyala
were released in earlier years in the dense
riparian vegetation. The nyala are regularly
seen in front of the lodges.

Legends Lodge:
The suites at Legends are well-spaced, and
each one is positioned to ensure the best
possible view of the Sabie and its
surroundings.
Each luxuriously appointed suite (125m2) is
air-conditioned, with en-suite bathroom and
a double shower. The suites also have a
private lounge, heated plunge pool,
individual satellite television, DVD player,
in-room mini bar and safe, underfloor
heating, heated towel rails - in the words
of James Stevenson- Hamilton in his book
South African Eden, ".all the things tending
to mitigate the asperities of life!"
In the heat of the day, there is no better
way to while away the time than relaxing in
the privacy of the deck, or taking a dip in
the plunge pool, whilst watching the daily
parade of game coming down to the river.
The bathrooms are designed to enhance your
intimate Kruger Safari. The bath and double
shower have large windows allowing
unobstructed viewing of the Sabie River,
whilst still retaining privacy. The double
shower has a Victorian shower rose and a
massage spray. There are double basins,
heated towel rails, as well as a separate
toilet and bidet.
Narina Lodge:
Each suite has a private viewing deck and
heated plunge pool with magnificent views of
the Sabie River.
The suites are equipped with en-suite
bathrooms, a large outdoor shower, mini bar,
safe, two air-conditioners, overhead fans,
direct dial telephones, satellite television
and DVD players. The suites also have
hairdryers, international adaptors and
insect repellent spray.
The bathrooms are equipped with double
basins, a large freestanding bath with a
view of the Sabie, a double shower (with a
Victorian Rose and a massage spray), a
separate toilet with bidet, heated towel
rails and for the adventurous, an outdoor
shower. |
